So, as most of you know, I lived somewhat of a sheltered life last year. Lets face it, if it didn't happen on Cartoon Network, I didn't know it. But, last evening, I decided I hadn't missed a thing. It was late, and I thought, I'll catch up on the world and put on the 11:00 news. And, as I was sitting there, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. For the first 8 minutes, they were broadcasting the top news story....the snow! They had remote reporters freezing their buts off...They were filming snow banks....They were showing cars sliding on ice! I thought to myself, is this the top story? What is so amazing? We live in northeast Ohio, it is the middle of January, and it is snowing! Now tell me my faithful Bloggers--did I miss something? Is there still a war going on? Are there homeless children in Southeast Asia? I guess I'll go back to Jimmy Neutron tonight--it seems to be much better time spent with my buddy. We had a great weekend. Jeff and I actually went out to dinner on Friday night--alone. It was so great to just go out, one on one. On Saturday, Gina lit up the basketball court again. The Hoopsters remain undefeated. And, thankfully, our Steelers pulled it off. I think our best player was the kicker for the Jets. Poor Guy! Yesterday, my wonderful neighbor, Kelly Casey, and some pretty special friends made faith bracelets. Kelly had offered her wonderful design to benefit our family. She took it upon herself to sell them at the local uniform store, Academy Plaids. I remain amazed at the generosity of others. Joey has inspired so many to share their gifts. Gina said to me this past week, "Mommy, I just want to be a normal family." I told her we are normal, we just get to experience kindness from others more often than the average family. I told her that is the gift in our experience. There are so many who suffer. We are lucky that Joey feels so well. I would ask all of you to please say a prayer for another special little one fighting this dreaded disease. She is a beautiful 5 year old named Caroline Carter. I met her in Cincinnati for just a few moments, but she remains in my thoughts always. Her surgery is tomorrow, so please remember her in your prayers. Finally, I asked Joey if he wanted to say anything on the website today. He said, "Tell them I feel great and wonderful!" Nuf said!
