So I go to rounds this morning knowing we have 300 white cells and an ANC of 160. This is a steady report of maintaining our white count around 200-300. So, I figure that we are still waiting. But today, the doctors were willing to say we have real signs of engraftment. Then, they started discussing when we might go home. We need an ANC close to 2000 for a release, but they indicated that it could increase rapidly once it stabilizes like this. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. We may be out of this by next week!! We still need counts-something I cannot control-but all feel this will come soon. I am TOTALLY rejuvenated. I am also in panic mode. My sister is organizing a work crew for my home. I will go on record to say that it was clean when I left the first week of August (Julie is my witness). But, now Jeff has been there alone for a month----I put a disclaimer out there for the current condition. You all love me, right? The doctors also said we may not be staying in the area for Joey's follow-up. As long as he shows good engraftment, we can be monitored and do his radiation in Akron. Yeah! Praises, praises!!! So, for now, we are still waiting, but it appears it may not be for long. I can already see my home!! And, all of you. Love to everyone. And, thanks to the Farm for yet another box of goodies. You are all wonderful.
