Joey looks great today. His counts are hanging at 200 white cells, but that is good. We are hopeful that each day brings an improvement and a little sign of when we might get out of this room. I was able to escape for a couple of hours today back to the hotel for my 3:00 shower. I was so grateful to be able to feel the sunshine not just SEE it. Still, I have guilt when I leave Joey in the room. But, you all came through for me today. When I returned, it looked like Christmas in here. We received several packages today and no two were alike. Joey received a BOND package with movies etc, REAL shark teeth and cool books, REAL Marine photos, snacks, toys and cards. He was sincerely excited for each thing. What a great diversion. I can't possibly thank you all enough. It really made our day to have such a showering of stuff. He has shown each thing to every person that came in here. The nurse's station was overloaded today and it was all for Joey. What incredible, caring people you all are. There truly was not enough room on the bed for all of it. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to each person who has taken the time to remember our son in the form of a prayer, card, note, posting or gift. We'll never be able to express our gratitude enough. Hoping for big numbers tomorrow. I must go now as we are watching one of our new Bond films from the Sterling friends. At 6:00, the family life people here are hosting a Mary Kay makeover session for parents. I think the staff around here is probably sick of looking at all of us hospital glam moms. I told Joey where I was going and he said, "Good Mommy, maybe they can make you look good and I can be James Bond for Halloween and you can be my hottie!" They better be good at make-up!
