Mystery solved-Joey's fatigue was due to a developing fever. Jeff took him into the hospital last night around midnight. His fever was 101 degrees. Overnight they did a chest x-ray and gave him some blood. Unfortunately, the blood line came unhooked in the night, so, a portion of it ended up on the bed and not in Joey. They will give him more today. They will keep him until he is without fever and his blood has a negative culture for infection for 48 hours. This is not unlike the other fever admissions we have had. It just comes at a tough time---like there is any good time! I am up in the air as to whether I will be able to go to Chicago tomorrow. I will see how Joey does today and then decide. Til then......
