Saturday evening and all is well. I just put Joey in bed. He had a pretty good day. He and I went to Burger King for lunch---but, they were out of Spidey toys. Then, we attempted a shopping trip, but had to cut it short because Joey was just tuckered out. I delivered him back home with a few rentals from Family Video and ran back out to get the rest of the groceries. All in all, he is doing well considering his major surgery. He complains a little with certain movements, but he is ok when he is at rest. Even his war wounds can be cool. On the underside of each wrist, he has a small scab from where they inserted arterial lines during surgery. To Joey, these areas are where he was bitten by a spider---and he has "real webs" that come out. His imagination is as amazing as his recovery. We know the prayerful support is the key to his recovery. While at Burger King today, we met a nice family who already knew us. They had been praying for Joey at the Chapel, and when we got to talking, we discovered they had even posted on his site. The prayer chain just keeps coming back around to us. As for the rest of the weekend, we probably will skip the firework thing. Joey is scared of them anyway. Jeff and Gina are in PA, so I am just enjoying some one-on-one with him. He will be checked for counts on Thursday. He'll most likely be admitted the following week for round 6 of chemo. Then, more scans and the wait to get to Cincinnati. For now, the hometime is awesome. Love to all and I'll update soon.
