Joey went back into the hospital on Thursday evening due to fever. He was spiking fevers at home and pulling on his ears, so we took him in. Since he has been there, however, he has not had a fever. They have him on a regiment of antibiotics and fluids. He also received much needed blood and platelets. We are hopeful he will come home tomorrow for some home time in advance of next week's scans. He still complains of ear pain, but we are guessing it is really his mouth/jaw that bothers him. Unfortunately, it seems the doctors are as helpless as us at times in figuring these things out. He has no visible infection in the ears---and, being that he is 3, sometimes the complaints are not reliable. He is hanging out with Daddy tonight. Mommy and Joey had fun last night playing Playstation and board games. That is the gift in hospital time--we are uninterrupted in our attention to him. Home seems to bring so many distractions that divide this precious time. Love to all. We feel your support.
