I love deep thoughts.....here's a few for my Cousin Laura to ponder while thinking of Joey's deeper thoughts! ;-) Love Love Love, Mike

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Sometimes, when I lie in bed at night and look up at the stars, I think to myself, "Man! I really need to fix that roof."

If you lived in the Dark Ages and you were a catapult operator, I bet the most common question
people would ask is, "Can't you make it shoot farther?" "No, I'm sorry. That's as far as it shoots."

Is there anything more beautiful than a beautiful, beautiful flamingo, flying across in front of a
beautiful sunset? And he's carrying a beautiful rose in his beak, and also he's carrying a very beautiful painting with his feet. And also, you're drunk.

Probably the earliest fly swatters were nothing more than some sort of striking surface attached to the end of a long stick.

If you go flying back through time and you see somebody else flying forward into the future, it's
probably best to avoid eye contact.

It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have more money. And I guess that's what I like about it. It's easy. Just sitting there, rocking back and forth, wanting that money.

As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking
that world, because they'd never expect it.

I hope some animal never bores a hole in my head and lays its eggs in my brain, because later you
might think you're having a good idea but it's just eggs hatching.

Whenever you read a good book, it's like the author is right there, in the room talking to you, which is why I don't like to read good books.

: And now for "Deep Thoughts by Joe Tubo". Today's episode ponders the question he asked me on the way to radiation this morning: "Mommy, how old is God?" I said, "Joey, God created the world, so he is older than the whole world!" I thought that this would convey to his 4-year-old mind God's Infinite Reign over us. So, he says, "Oh-is God 36 then?" (No-Joey-that would be how old I AM) That just goes to show you what he thinks of my youth. We have 2 more radiation treatments. I told this to Joey this morning and he said, "Then, the BUBBLE-RAMA!!!" That is what he calls the bath he has been waiting on. We have held off until the radiation is completed to safe guard against washing away the marks on his abdomen. The radiation techs have drawn with marker numerous X's on Joey's stomach to mark the radiation field. Following the treatment, we went to the clinic for a check of his counts. They are down a bit from last Thursday, but still no need for a transfusion. He is holding his own. We follow-up again on Thursday. He has not needed a transfusion since October 20th. Praise God! At mass this weekend, Father John spoke of signs. I do see signs each day that God is answering our prayers. Everyday that Joey gets up and starts in chattering to me, I see it. Joey saw the sun today and said, "This is a BOO-YAH day!" Amen.
