What a difference a day makes!!! Yesterday, I was out in the backyard playing baseball with Gina and Joey. We had our light jackets on. The neighbor was hanging bird houses. My little bulbs were peaking out!! Today, we wake up to a snow day. I guess it was God's reminder of that day by day thing. Anyway, we had a great weekend. On Saturday morning, Gina and The Hoopsters remained undefeated. We took Joey to her basketball game for the first time. He really enjoyed watching his "Sissy" play. I really enjoyed watching him be a normal kid. On Sunday, we all went back to church. I needed church since Gina was grounded by 10:00 am for her smart mouth. The one hour of peace and reflection seems to ground ME again. Gina, Joey and Jeff took up the offering as I sang with the choir. For me, it was just an amazing realization of Joey's miracle to witness this. Joey brought up the basket with the money. Afterwards, he looked at me and gave me a thumbs up. He sat on my lap in the choir and I whispered to him, "Good job, Buddy! I knew you could do it." He whispered back, "Thanks Mom, I knew I could do it too! It's easy to carry the dollars!" Valentine's Day was full of ups and downs. Joey started the day by saying to me, "Mommy, will you kiss my leg? It hurts when I walk." This one statement put me into a tail spin. I prayed for strength of faith of the miracle that was so obvious to me the day before. But, all day, while I attempted to work, I was just in a funk. When I got home, Joey was fine. He ran all over the house. And, he hasn't complained since. Gina was also just amazingly sweet. I looked at her and said how much I appreciated her and loved her. I asked her why she was being so different from the previous day. She said, "Mommy, today is Valentine's Day. It's all ABOUT love!" Wouldn't it be great if we celebrated love EVERY day?
